A prolific entrepreneur and angel investor, Joshua Powe is known for bringing innovative ideas to life. With deep experience across a variety of sectors, including digital media, publishing, hospitality, entertainment, and educational technology, Josh continues to leverage his passion and expertise across a growing number of early-stage ventures as both an investor and advisor. In 2010, Josh co-founded LinkIt! (www.linkit.com) and served as CEO of the web-based K–12 assessment and analytics SaaS platform for over 10 years. Currently, Josh serves as Executive Chairman of the 100-person firm that enables school districts to gain unprecedented insight into student academic performance. With over 450 enterprise clients, the profitable company is currently poised for its next phase of growth after partnering with private equity firm Serent Capital in December 2022. In addition to his experience at LinkIt!, Josh also served as Lead Strategist for Team CCI, whose “Pubbly” solution was selected as one of 5 finalists in the prestigious Global Learning XPrize sponsored by Google. The Pubbly team won a $1M innovation prize from Elon Musk for its development of a no-code design platform for digital learning content and will soon launch the Pubbly Learning Marketplace at www.Pubbly.com in an attempt to democratize the design and distribution of premium learning content for children around the world. Josh graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1999 with BA in the History of Science and holds board positions at three nonprofit organizations in the education and community development space.
With over 20 years of experience delivering stand-out brand recognition, Valena Scott has led marketing communications and consulted on internal business initiatives programs and campaigns for Fortune 100/500 companies including The Coca-Cola Company, America Honda, Walmart, The White House, Pizza Hut, The Athlete’s Foot, Burger King, the Related Group, Target, and Diageo. As a mentor and consultant to startups and emerging enterprises, she has developed and executed high-stakes new channel strategies and led business development operations, joint ventures, partnerships, netting funding and secured pivotal endorsements. Hardwired to build collaborative relationships at all levels and develop high-performing teams, Valena is a skilled strategist and connector with a unique ability to bring equilibrium to driving for outcomes and achieving goals.
Mark Donovan lives at the intersection of technology, strategy and execution. He is a seasoned executive, combining large scale enterprise savviness with a nimble entrepreneurial core, specializing in leveraging technology to drive revolutionary change agents. Recognized as a transformational leader with proven results, Mark’s project partners include: Pfizer, adidas, Walgreens, SegurCaixa Adeslas, British Telecom, Bill Blass and Unilever. Over his career he has built, scaled and, in some cases, liquidated businesses with focuses ranging across participatory sports services and wellness (as a seed investor and board member of imATHLETE, acquired by Gannett in 2019); healthcare (as CEO of GoMed and Interim CEO of Noble.MD, acquired by WellTrackOne in 2017); cannabis/RFID and IoT (as Interim COO of TrueGreen Global, Executive Advisor for Nix Biosensors and COO of Thinaire); Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain (as Managing Partner of Athlete Journey and as Interim COO at Epic.ai), incentives and behavioral economics (as Co-Founder of Karmist), VoIP managed services (as CEO of Flyfone International, acquired by IBN in 2005), residential real estate (as a founding executive team member of Rent.com, acquired by eBay in 2005) and think tank services (as Director of Development for Digital Evolution, IPO 1999 as US Interactive). Mark’s career began working for Mercer Management Consulting and the Strategic Planning department at the Walt Disney Company. Mark currently serves on the Board of Advisors for Emerson College as Vice Chair, as well as, the Board of Directors for Athlete Journey. In non-professional endeavors, Mark is a professionally trained classical vocalist, by way of the Tanglewood Music Center in the Berkshires, and has been an accomplished marathoner for decades. Mark is the author of multiple issued patents and has a bachelor's degree in communication from Emerson College and a master's degree in education from Columbia University. He lives with his wife and gaggle of girls in New York City.
